Morning all,
The corsa's gone for more than a week now. Tried getting an insurance on an ITR but it seems impossible!! The next best thing they'd insure me on is this -

hoping to get the 1998 model early next year. What do you people think about the car? Any one owns one around here?
Cheers for the help

excellent cars!
Im suprised they will insure you on one of those and not the ITR though, as these are grp 18 or 19. Good spec though:
1595cc
185bhp@8200RPM
16.3kgm@7500RPM
ins grp: 18-19?
0-60:5.8sec
0-100:17.5sec
1/4 mile:15.0sec @ 94MPH
Personally though, if you intend to modify the car go the VTi model. It'll be cheaper to start with, still has excellent performance as standard, and easier to sell on modified - where as a modified Type R will take ages to sell normally as people like them totally standard.

VTi

158bhp
INS GRP 15
0-60 in 7.7 seconds
33 MPG

The car is totally different than the vti. The gearbox is much better + the whole package (seats, kit, dash, etc..)
Here in Malta insurance is different, no groups. Just the engine cc and the amount of claims they've had from these cars. The price is the same as an ITR. And i'm told that, just in case I want to, there's a stroker kit costing Lm400 (640 GBP) to convert the engine to that of the ITR i.e. 1797cc 200bhp. Personally wanted the ITR, but the civic's great as well + they're a bit rare here.

That's cool. Hondas are great cars but I don't think lots of people know it. They're economical if you know how to drive, very nippy, very reliable and also rev-tastic Think i'll order it in white.

I know, they're very nice civics but i'm more in the subtle look. Just a set of 16s or 17s in white, some coilovers, induction and exhaust, nothing special and always shining. It will only be used as a Sunday car.
