Can you get FC insurance on a car that's registered in someone else's name?

So if someone got a car on finance, it was registered to them, but I wanted to drive it and insure it FC under my own name, this would be fine, yes?

i don't think it's actually written into T&C's that you have to have FC insurance on financed cars.

But it'd be a good idea to, if you wrap it up you'll end up having to pay out for a car you don't have.

This happened to a friend of mine. Got a loan for £4k, bought a car, only got TPFT Insurance then wrapped up his car. He's still paying for it

Even funnier thing was, it was that mashed up after the crash. He had to pay a guy £50 to take it away
