I'm very impressed with Tottenham, the way they played against Arsenal they will win things, they have so much energy and are so lively on and off the ball.

to be honest the Man U case is totally different to the Chelski one. I mean OK they had greater spending power than other clubs, but this wasnt down to a billionaire owner pumping the money in, it was down to getting a good squad together with not so much money (when they first won the premiership) and then exploiting their winning era to the fullest to bring in alot of money.

Glad to hear it!
Thats what'll get us signatures. We've cranked the whole stadium thing up a notch due to Brighton getting permission to build theirs.

Also, going back to this spending money business, the Premiership takes the piss in this country. Being a lower league fan i despise the way Premiership teams rob the lower leagues of the better players by offering big wages and the like. IMO there should be some sort of rule that you have a certain amount of "home-grown" players in a squad, lets see how'd they get on then.
I'll admit to watching Premiership games, and i admit some of the matches are fantastic, but theres a little bit inside of me that hopes something with Sky goes wron and the whole thing goes tits up and then maybe the bigger clubs will realise its not all about money

UEFA want a rule for the Champions League that'll mean at least 3 players in your squad that have gone throuhg your training academy, something like that. They then want to increase that number to 4,5, and possibly more over the years. Good idea that.
One of the most exciting games seen on Sky this year was a Championship game between Luton and Sheff Wed. Not saying that as i'm a Luton fan, but because all the Sky pundits said it was. The Championship is booming, attendances figures are up, viewing figures are up...... it's all good.

Attendance figures are up mate cos no cunt can afford to go Premiership games week in week out. My Dads mate is a Chelsea fan, has been for donkeys years, but over last few seasons he had to stop going as he simply cannot agfford to go anymore, his season ticket jumped from around £500 a season to nearly 2k, thus pricing him out of the market for a ticket and instead it will go to some yuppie cunt who thinks football is "fashionable" so he will buy it to impress his yuppie mates down his local wine bar
As for including players that have come up through the Youth System, cant come quick enough IMO. Huddersfield played a game earlier this season and 10 out the 11 players had come through from Academy players to first teamers, im betting that in the Premiership there isn't any team that has 10 players from there Academy in there 1st team squad, let alone the 1st team.

Liverpool season tickets have always been well priced, I first got my season ticket nearly 12 years ago and it cost £480, and to renew it this season it was still only £560.
Also, Liverpool has invested hugely in its academy, and always has. I mean look at some of the players who have come out of it in the last 10 years, McManaman, Fowler, Owen, Gerrard, Carra to name a few!
And to answer your question about home grown in the first team squad....
8.Steven Gerrard
23.Jamie Carragher
31.David Raven
33.Neil Mellor
34.Darren Potter
35.Danny Guthrie
38.David Mannix
Lee Peltier
Danny O'Donnell
Paul Willis
James Smith
Robbie Foy
John Welsh
There are 13 who have come through the acadamy, and we also have another 7 or 8 young lads (17,18,19) who have been at the acadamy for a year or less who we have brought in, some english some not.

Not a bad list there mate, there is some hope!! But how many of them will actually become first team regulars, and how many will be let go/sold to lower league teams because an overpaid Foreigner has been bought
But yeah Liverpool do have a good Academy, IIRC it was voted sencond best in the Country a few weeks ago, 2nd only to Huddersfield

wolves have nearly finished our new training centre, 2+ million quid. should help develop the home grown to go with the great players that have already come out of it.

Just noticed I also missed Warnock off that list!
Well most of them are only about 17 or 18 so will probably have a few years in a lower division on loan to assess them properly - we have another few I forgot about currently on load at various places.
Some will break into the side, such as Warnock and Mellor have done is the last season. And people like Raven, Potter, Welsh, etc. are just on the brink.
