Had a couple of u2us about fitting front grille. Heres a basic guide I did a while back :
The front bumper needs to come off .
There are 9 screws holding the front bumper on :
2 * 8mm at the top of the bumper , open the bonnet to see them.
3 *8mm under the bumper
1 * 8mm at each corner of the bumper (underneath - meaning five in total underneath )
1 * 10mm under each arch , where you open a flap to get to it . This "screw" is actually a plastic nut and really hard to put back on !!
This pic shows roughly where the screws are :
The bumper should now be very loose .
Pull both the right and left arch trims gently away from the bumper , and remove the screws if you need to .
Now give the bumper a pull away from the car , and put quite a bit of force over the towing eye area of the bumper , so that it pops over it .
With the bumper off , pull the plastic backing away from the grille , and bin it .
Saw down the sides of the grille (neatly as possible) and then down the sides of the middle of the grille , which should now allow you to pull the grille off , leaving you with three holes at the points where the grill used to be bonded to the bumper .
Sand these areas , so that they arent as rough and the grille fits flush to the bumper .
Now put the bumper back on , but only hold it on with the top two screws which are under the bonnet , which is all you need for the test fit .
With the LMF Grille (This may or may not apply to other styles) , there were various clips along the bottom of the grille , which i didnt need , as they would not allow the grille to rest on the bumper . Break these off with a screwdriver .
Line the grille up with the bumper , and mark through the holes in the grille , onto the slam panel where you will be drilling the mounting holes for the grille.
Drill the holes , and attach the grille with a nut and bolt .
Play about with the mounting holes on the grill , i.e make them bigger , if you aren't happy with the way the grille sits (many of the lmf grilles I have seen sit too low , with a gap between the grille and bonnet , but making the mounting holes bigger sorts this) .
Remove the grille , and re - attatch the front bumper , by repeating the process of where all the screws go . The two screws under the flaps at the arches may be quite hard to re-fit . In my case they would not line up again , so I bonded the plastic arched back on with a sealent called "serious stuff" - same idea as Mastik / Tigerseal , and can be bought from B&Q .
Re - Fit the grill , and line it up before securing it .
