Top Gear in Aylesbury are alright, it's where I had my system done in April.
Going back there soon to get a new cat fitted as my existing one is about 8 years old and broken!

Top Gear in Burnley, I don't think I need to do any more than post the usual pics (and the usual statement of the exhaust only having been on the car for 9 months before it was in the state seen in the pics)!

My exhaust isn't the cheapo grade of stainless steel they (Powerflow) used to use. Been on since April and no rust!

I used Top Gear in St Albans on two occasions, once to fit a Scorpion exhaust off C3RSA to my Corsa (they didn't fit it properly and it kept knocking on something), second time to fit a cat-back Powerflow system to my old blue Astra (badly fitted, was actually more powerful with the standard system FFS).
The guys in Aylesbury got it right with the system on my current Astra though. I will definately be going back there again for all my future exhaust needs. They also sell alloys and suspension there as well too I think.

They are shit, any company that is as un-consistant in thier work is shit, I don't care how many people think they have had good work done by Powerflow, just as many people have had shit work. The grade of 'Stainless Steel' they used may as well be classified as mild steel as it is not suitible for use in an exhaust system. It's the same stuff you use for stanless steel picture frames... It's reject crap.

i have taken 2 of my cars and recommended top gear in burnley to my mates, and uv only got to search thru the NW region to see what a top job they do over there. i havnt really had a car long enough to see how well the exhausts are but there are absolutly no problems with the team working there

Mixed opinons on top gear places. I got mine done in Burnley and had no problems wht so ever. Like wht leg said, numerous threads in NW section about it. Kinda harsh to brand them all by the mistakes of some.

Top Gear in Burnley...
It had to go back after about 3 months, because one of the welds had completely fallen apart, and then when it came to MOT-time, I found out the decat pipe I'd talked about was just a single straight pipe from centre-silencer to the downpipe (meaning the entire section would have needed replacing - ie. no cat-sized drop-out pipe for quick replacement) and the entire length of the exhaust was covered in a considerable amount of rust.
Emailed them, didn't hear anything back within 2-3 weeks. Emailed them again, got a short reply back stating my email had been passed to Powerflow (nice of them to reply to the first email, to advise). Didn't hear anything back from the email they'd forwarded onto Powerflow, so emailed both Top Gear and Powerflow, asking what was going on. Got an email back from Powerflow, saying that grade-409 was supposed to rust as mine had (nice of Top Gear to tell me this, when I was speaking about eventually taking the car to shows) and that rust was not covered in their "lifetime" guarantee unless it caused enough damage to corrode right through the metal considerably. Top Gear also emailed back to say similar, that I would not be due a refund (partial or full), because the exhaust was supposed to be completely covered in rust.
So, next step was to get Trading Standards involved. They advised me to write to Top Gear in Burnley, rather than email, stating my claim and that, under the Goods and Services Act, the exhaust was not up to the standards expected, and that I officially requested some reform of recompense for the cost paid for it. Again, I didn't hear anything back after the two weeks Trading Standards advised giving them, so I dropped them a quick email. Again, another very brief email back to state the letter had been passed onto Powerflow (again, without telling me it had). Eventually, I received an email back from Powerflow (after chasing it up again with them), stating exactly what they'd stated in their first email, that the lifetime guarantee doesn't cover rust unless it corrodes right through the metal, and that my claim did not hold.
Passed the info back to Trading Standards, they advised that they would write an official formal letter to Top Gear, stating that, as they were my primary point of sale for the goods, my dealings would have to be with them not Powerflow, and that, in their belief, my claim held water. Although I never got to see the reply Top Gear made to the Trading Standards officer I was dealing with, I was advised that Top Gear had categorically refused to make any form of offer at all, and that they were sticking by what they had advised me, despite being reminded of the Sales of Goods/Services Act seemingly being on my side (a stainless steel exhaust, having 50-60% surface rust after less than 12 months, sound like goods in expected working order to you?).
So, Trading Standards had exhausted (sorry, bad pun ) all their legal powers, and all they could do now was to advise me to open a Small Claims Court case against Top Gear. Unfortunately, at the time, I'd just renewed car-insurance, got the car through MOT and 40k-service (cambelt, etc - not a cheap one), and had a bucket-load of work piled on me in work, so I didn't have the time or money to do that.
So, I reluctantly had to sign off the £450 pile of rusty junk that is now sitting in my parents' shed, and vow to read up on every change I make to the car, to ensure this doesn't happen again...
