Right, basicly is a private reg plate registered to a car or a parson,

heres the senario, im selling my car with my private plate on it, as soon as i send off the V5 with the new owners details does that automaticly mean he is the owner of the registration plate aswell?

Or do i have to contact the dvla etc to get a name change ?

please help asap!

Sell the car with the plate on and it legally becomes theirs.

Take it of the car first.

Okay thats fine, I was planning on selling it with the number plate on anyway, i just needed to re-asure the buyer that the plate will be theirs along with the car when i send off the V5
