Could you please end a little debate over push and pull factors on people who decide to become entrepreneurs.
Pull Factors
- Can be people i.e family who have their own firm
- Use of equipment that would eventually lead to entrepreneurship
Push Factors
- Partners wanting to sell their half of the partnership therefore the other partner buys them out
Is the above correct? Searched the internet but found fook all. This is annoying the shoot out of me.... damn I'm cool

Its at HND/Degree level.
The question does not mention the word push/pull. It only asks for factors that have influenced 'person a' to become entrepreneurial. BUT, the lecturer briefly said push/pull factors. So its left me thinking are push/pull factors relevant to the question?

Not great at business studies but an entrepreneur is someone who starts there own business aren't they? So pull factors would be stuff like;
being there own boss, deciding what gets done when
Getting to make all decsions about the direction there business will go in, i.e not having a board, or team of directors voting on what to do.
Where as push factors would be stuff like
having to work long hours to get there business up and running
no holiday or sick pay if they are the only employee in the business, as if they are off, the business is shut.
Huge finacial risk, a lot a small business don't last 6 months
like said i'm not great and only just managed to get an a level, but that would be my understanding

I would say Push factors would be the positive reasons to become an entrepreneur:
* Own business
* Own boss
* Doing something that interests you
* Thriving on risk taking and adrenalin
Whereas pull factors would be a hinderance ie pull you back:
*Risk of becoming bankrupt
*Long hours
*Stress
*Loss of social/family life
This is what my degree is in so I hope it's right
