Going with this list here would also add a c20xe as talking to a mate of mine he reckons its one of the most acomplished engines build for its time.

Also talking to Shinee and he was telling the YB serries are just basically Ford X flows with a 16v head

Which is cooler, its defo the LC no contest

when it comes to sheer coolness and road presence though, i agree the LC wins easily

YB SERIES was based on the 8v pinto engine

it was original developed at cosworth as a n/a head for the pinto for rallying, only when ford visted cosworth they saw the engine a said "why dont we stick that in the siera, and turbo charge it"

crossflow was a diffrent engine alltoghter

£48,000 you will be lucky.

They were £52,000 brand spanking new.

My best engines i would think are

20XE
C36GET
LS2
Cosworth YB
anything with Vtec B16, b18, b20 whatever
Alfa romeo 80's twin cam (awsome engines)
Rover K Series.
E30 m3 lump (220bhp normally asperated for the early 80's is very impressive)
Early Audi Quattro

'A' series ?

Don't forget Countach V12, BRM V16, also 6 cyl Merc engines - so smooth. 8s and 12s are nice too.

Also 4.6 litre Ford Mustang engine

and 1597cc of mahem too

youve gota look at where these engines are coming from,

most of the fast ones today are from japan due to the technology, and engineering, look at honda FFS s2000 pumps out 240bhp standard! without forced induction or TB's!

honda are way ahead of any other manufacturer in that respect,

but cosworth have been around for ages and developed some brilliant engines like the c20xe and ford cossie engines but dont seem to be advancing technology as much as the japs.
