Heres the score. Im nearly 19 and am insured as a named driver on my mums insuance. Im only driving a 1.0ltr 12v on Third Party which is pretty cheap. Problem is, the insurance companies say the name driver (me) has to be 21 or over to start modifying a car. I only want it lowered + as set of 15's but they dont want to know.

Id prefer to declare my mods, but what do you guys think?

Has anyone else been in this situation, you help please

The priority should be getting it in your own name, not getting some way of modding the car.

You'll probably find that in your own name you can mod anyway, but get your own policy. Far better in the long run.

Problem with swapping bits after a crash is that your car needs to be drivable and not damaged in the area of the mods otherwise you'll have undamaged suspension and bent lower arms, and they'll see that.
