Was just wondering what peoples views are on this as mine is lowered 60/40.When a car is crash tested it is at the manufacturers standard car height, so if it was lowered would it crash the same or worse?.
Obviously with mine having a nose down stance i wouldn't want to hit the back of a lorry as it might submarine under the rear of the lorry!.

Shouldnt really effect the crash safety of the car although, in a way its actually a passive safety device, as it stops the front end hitting the deck, so helps aid the weight distribution, so you shouldnt lock up as easy... in theory .

What it will have an effect on is pedestrian impacts, as it will hit people lower down... which for most cases, especially kids is a good thing .

Everyone go and buy Coilovers: Think of the kids .

I just thought that because the car was lower and you hit the rear of another car , then instead of hitting your bumper it would hit more of the bonnet and crumple differently.

would wedge them up on the bonnet as aposed to running them under the car - in theory.

Imagine it would take a pretty heavy impact to damage you SetH, no need to worry

It's more likely to crash with lowered suspension. Hit bump, run out of suspension travel, unsettles car, hedge - tree.

I was thinking about what would happen to a 2.0 Corsa in a crash. The engine nearly touches the bulkhead as it is... Er, ouch.

Well, some suspension kits come TUV approved. That means they have been crash tested and up to the same standards as OE stuff sold in Germany.
