Guy at work just got this..

33,000 miles ..
He took me out belted it about, then let me drive it back...
Have to say, sorry i didn't like it... clutch was awful and jerky, handling felt nice an tight but been in better although i didn't take it to its limits... horrible ride, felt quick but didn't scare me, was fairly everage in 1st and 2nd...3rd felt nice and strong..can imagine it being nice pulling away at motorway speeds. Didn't pin me in my seat or anything just felt mega nippy and tourque steered when whacking it into 2nd felt fast but nothing amazing...just very nippy
I'd like to own one as it looked amazing but the built quality put me of and horid clutch.. cigarette lighter shoots out and flys off somewhere when you use it I think i just expected to get blown away by it from people raving about them... would definatley go for a Astra Turbo over one just for the extra luxury and build quaility...

I have one and I'm sorry I will have to disagree with you.
It is very quick they do about 0-60 in about 6.9 seconds and I haven't come across much that could beat it, if you don't think its quick you weren't driving it to its potential.
Its handles amazing, hardly any body roll and just sticks to the roads.
The clutch is designed like that and takes some getting use to.
I'm getting about 34 mpg out of it and thats with heavy driving so IMO I think its an ideal car for someone to have who wants very good performance with air con etc for very little money.
How much did your mate pay for it?
Does he know that its due a big service at 36k?

No he doesn't, didn't mention any servicing... He picked it up for £6,500 which i thought wasn't bad..
Ps. not saying they are a bad car, just didn't do anything for me.. the inside felt really bland compared to the outside wich looks awsome... the handling i never really got to push but i gave it a good thrashing to the red line in 1st second and about half way through 3rd... felt really nippy but i thought it would be scarey in 1st and 2nd and die off in 3rd and it was the opposite 1st gear felt like a lot of other "Nippy" cars i had been in...

Each to there own mate, everyone has different opinions
I find my first gear the best gear because it can get to such a high speed in first, it screams at 7200 rpm .
£6.5k is a good price but he will need a big service soon that costs anything between £300-£500 at Renault also if the car is 4-5 years old it will need a cambelt change and thats £400 from Renault.

My mate drove one and the guy whos car it was said to him "Your not booting it" "My foots to the floor" "No it's not, press harder" "Oh fuck yeah" .

lol.. no mark he didn;t know about that but i will tell him tomorrow cheers.. Would like to have a proper go in one though test the handling out properly... felt like with an exhuast and less restricted airbox there would be more in there... there felt like there was potential...
Rob i think it was as far as it would go as i tend to slam my foot down...
Maybe its coz im always in my mates 410BHP monaro ... It didn't feel anywhere near that but thats to be expected...

PLus i passed my test in a 1.2 clio and that was so nice to drive, nice clutch easy power steering soft suspension ... this felt totally different, steering wasn't as nice, ride was very choppy.. worse than my car lowered 60mm... wasn't that nice inside , but if it has impressive performance then you kind of understand but just didn't feel amazing just good, like a VTS i drove once...
It actually felt like it had to much power to put down light and FWD ...when i changed gear.. must be mad in the wet...
