Your right about the sixth gear. I had a big technical book about calibra/cav turbo's (which I've just given back) and it was basically saying the sixth was for economy purposes, so the car is at low-ish revs at 70.

Mine pulls 64 in second.

At 7500 in sixth it's 186mph if you have the balls Obviousally you have a higher rev limiter
I'm going to have to ask it then... Is a 200mph Corsa possible? It should/is possible in a Calibra, but they are a lot more aerodynamic....

well, my limiter is what, 7950rpm, so wind resistance aside, gotta be good for 190+mph.

id say probably looking at struggling to get much more than 175-180 as the aero dynamics aint as good as a cally

We have a Phase 4 Nova round here (but only running standard injectors at the moment). Car weighs 600kg's I bet (stripped out van). On bottom boost with standard injectors it beats mine on full boost.

Been told to expect the difference between bottom and top on mine will be the same difference bottom to top on the phase 4 (I can't comprehend how fast thats gonna feel!). My guestimations are it will pull in 5th like mine in 3rd, so limiter in 6th is a distinct possability. Plus he has 17's. Think at 7950rpm on 205/40/17's I make it 202mph!

Do some power to weight calculations, with transmission losses.

Escort Cossie, 600bhp, 1300kg, 35% losses = 300bhp/tonne

Nova Van, 378bhp, 600kg, 20% losses = 504bhp/tonne.

Am I right?

If so I don't see why it can't hit the limiter in top gear, you would expect the 600bhp EsCos to wouldn't you?

I've seen my needle go off the end of 7k in sixth before...

So think with all the extra power it will fly round like

You would be amazed how many people doubt me for saying my car will do 7k in sixth
