I have this problem, my tax ran out on the 31st of august.I dont own the car, my dad does.Hes registered owner.Hes bein a real pain in the ass and wont tax the car.If im caught without tax, will the registered owner get the fine (dad)...or will the guy driving it get it i.e, me

dvla keep a registered database now, as soon as the tax runs out and the car hasnt been declared SORN an automatic fine is issued to the owner of the vehicle. I think they give ten days grace if i remember right

ur dad will get a fine from dvla but u will be reported for driving an untaxed car if ur pulled over

tbo, im not bothered driving it if its only my dad tht gets the fine...Hes not living at home and tbo...couldent give a rats ass...it would be his fault.
what would happen if i get pulled by cops driving it, and they wanted to take action..who would get fooked?

its up to the coppers that pull u they can impound ur car or report u to dvla for no tax..
if they report u to dvla u will get the fine through and u will have to pay back tax for the time it wasnt taxed..
