it was one game ffs, the same thing happens with england time and time again, the press and the fans hound the team constantly.
the spine of the team is one of if not the best in europe, terry and ferdinand are 2 of the best centre halves, lampard and gerrard is the best pairing of any european team in midfield, rooney will be the best player in the world one day and owen has always and will always score goals. WHEN you get to the world cup finals you will do well.
I'm not really bothered about last night, just thought i'd give my 2 cents on which team i'd put out

Robinson
Neville.......Ferdinand........Terry.............Carragher
............................Scholes
<............Beckham...................... Lampard...........>
.............................Gerrard
...........Rooney........................Wright Phillips

Allow Beckham and Lampard to go wide and cover the wings/support the full backs. Have Scholes sweeping up anything that comes past the midfield. Then get Gerrard doing what he does best, going forward. I dont rate owen at all but Wright Phillips is an excellent player
There you go Mr Erikson

oh ok, id agree with your team although going around those 6 central players is six and half a dozen, barring beckham the 2 full backs and the left wing are up for grabs imo.

scholes has never played as a holding midfielder in his whole career and wont come out of retirement, and owen is a proven goalscorer no matter what anyway says about him his record stands up to every single player in europe.

Im not a great fan of Neville either but he links well with Beckham, as for left back, that should just be a raffle I never knew scholes retired, but I think he would do well in a holding role
