Was looking at stuff like this on autotrader last night, found this that I quite liked, even though I know nothing about them...

1965 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE Mk2,
Full MOT. Tax exempt. Recent Jigsaw unleaded engine (120bhp) only covered a few hundred miles since new. OD gearbox, Minilites, uprated brakes and suspension, SS exhaust. Total rebuild in 1997 with photos and receipts, 1000's spent. Roll-bar, inertia seatbelts, hard and soft tops with many original spares/fitments included in sale. Updated version of a classic car. Drives like a modern car, but has never been raced. Garaged, dry use only. No canvassers. £3,499.

do you think of that as a classic, a classic to me is something how it is ment to be, not a ford with a vauxhall engine!

I'd have a classic Porsche any day... Something like an early 911 would make me smile.

I'd have a DB6 (with ejector set included) or a Ginetta G4, wouldn't mind an early MINI neither.
