I was browsing Ebay on Sunday when I found a Corsa GSi that was being broken. I asked the seller how much they wanted for the bumper, skirts and arches. They replied and said the prices and I then said I would buy the front bumper. The price was all agreed through email and they told me where to send the cheque to. Sent it off in the post along with a bit of paper with my address and contact details on and then today got the cheque and contact details back in the post with 'Sorry, bumpers sold' scribbled over the top! Now when I'd asked the person who was selling it how I could bid on the bumper on Ebay so I could get feedback off them they said it wasnt an auction, they were just using it to advertise the parts.
Doubt there is anything I can do about it by the sounds of it as Ebay would probably say that the transaction wasnt done through them? But it couldnt be anyway as it was payment by cheque!
Bit miffed off but at least I didnt lose my money. Just would of liked to have been able to give some negative feedback against them as they are IMO a bad seller!

If you look at the auction you will see what I mean about I didnt know how to bid specifically for the bumper. Feel better for getting that out of my system! What do you guys reckon

Well it wasnt an auction and some one else got their money in before you so they got it. If people are breaking cars they havent got time to wait for one persons money to come in.
Get over it.

I agreed price Sunday, told them cheque would be with them next day which it was! They had my number, if they had sold it on the Sunday then they could have let me know. Wasnt like they didnt have any contact details for me!

And I also turned down another bumper that I was offered as I had seen this one and allready sorted to buy it so didnt want to fuck him around! Now the other bumpers sold!

Like I said it wasnt an auction!
If you went to a shop and they had sold out of something would you go mad and ring the local papaers etc etc and tell them it was a disgrace and an outrage?!

No but say there was something for sale on here and I agreed to buy it. Told them money would be with them tomorrow, they said ok. Sale was agreed. Then they turned round and said Ive sold it to someone else when I'd allready said I'd have it and sent the money to them! Maybe Im too kind hearted but if I was selling something and someone said they would have it and are sending the money I would class as provisionally sold so if someone else contacted me saying they wanted to buy it I would say it was provisionally sold but if the person doesnt send the money within 2 days I presume they dont want it and are messing me about so will let you know if it falls through.
I do see what your saying TNM, its just me Im probably too nice TBH and dont realise other people arent the same! Suppose he had no guarantee I was going to send the money to him for sure!

Well if you have it on ebay im sure you are meant to be able to bid on all the parts and the highest bidder gets the part.
Although i agree with what you say corsa_boy because if he agreed you were gonna buy it then he shouldnt of sold it to someone else.

looking at the pics hes a breaker. He will have people contacting him all day every day and people coming to his yard. Chances are he cant remember half of the people he has promised parts to. Or maybe some one else has said to some yes we have a corsa bumper and then you have spoken to some one else and hes said yes we have a corsa bumper.

Chavalene: Its cost him bugger all to put an advert on ebay and say 'Look I have a corsa GSi breaking'
If he was to list every part it would cost a fortune.
