Problem i have with air travel, i LOVE planes, all except commercial airliners.

Cram em in minnimum care old aircraft flying millions of miles. THeres allways going to be cost cutting as they are all business's

People always say "more likely to have a car acident" etc.

Yes this is true. I have been in more than 1 car accident. I am alive and perfectly well.

Ive never met anyone whos been in a plane crash

thats just bullshit. there are countless regulatory government agencies working around the clock to keep airlines in check. Modern Airbus and Boeing aircraft are a million miles ahead of aircraft built and designed in the 60's and 70's. the chances of failure are absolute minimal, and when something does go wrong, more often that not it is because of a number of factors coming together at one point in time.
You would have to fly on a modern commerical airliner every day for 60,000 years before being involved in a serious accident.
And i have been in a few mishaps myself on an aircraft

Dave i am not disputing the fact there are agencies. But if u think that there wont be cost cutting etc i think youd be suprised., im not suggestiing they are all unsafe, you are missing my point.

There will be a few aircraft up there that are most probably long overdue some much needed maintenance. They are all run/maintained by humans, who by nature are greedy/selfish/lazy/curropt

So wouldnt suprise me at all.

Last plan i went in was a de-havviland rapide @ duxford in june, now THATs a proper airliner

Rapides are cool as fook I fully agree with what you are saying about cost cutting, but it is an extremely rare occurence. One good example of cost cutting is Alaska Airlines. the amount of cost cutting going on there was unreal, and caused the death of 88 passengers. Believe me, i spend a lot of time talking to engineers for various airlines, and it is extremely rare to come across 'bad eggs' in the industry. it does happen though.
