Would you buy a car with service history but it aint a dealer one???
Do other garages use universal parts instead of the original equipment???

1) Yes...
2) Normally, but I know some that like to use genuine parts too (usually less problems with them)...

As far as buying a car with non dealer service history goes I would buy one without main dealer history BUT it depends on the value of the car, the make of the car and the age/mileage of the car

^ what he said.
99% of vauxhall, ford, renault, citroen etc. main dealers are completely useless uncompetent fools... and I would rather trust a well known garage.
If it were a BMW, Merc, VAG motor on the other hand then I would be wanting a full service history at a dealership...

obviously age and price of the car would also play a part in my decision
