went out tonight for a quick blast with my mate in his new clio 182. Even tho we wernt pushing that hard, we were still traveling at a decent pace, the clio didnt have anything on the corsa and vice versa. Clio is 2000 miles old and totally standard bar a k&N panel filter, corsa is a stock 154bhp c20xe with fk coilovers, strutbraces and crappy 195/45 yoko a539s.

I was quite surprised as the roads were twisty, typical british country b road stuff, i expected the clio to just ease away but it didnt Clio was marginally quicker through the faster sweeping corners but after the corsa had finished fighting the understeer it soon catches again

Adam, i reckon that you should try again against the Clio once your mate has learnt the ways of driving it fast around bends

cyber.. the vids showed how a corsa can keep up with the clio, without driving like a nob.. some of the bends looked pretty sharpe and both took them well, maybe on a track the clio be quicker .. plus it always look slower on camera anyway, u never get the full effect unless the camera is sat low to the road or its round really narrow roads like rally cameras..

good work adam love your car and it was keeping up ON THE ROAD which is what's important, although it'd be cool to give them both to a proffesional driver round the track and compare times and thoughts after all £8k price difference is alot
