Wrong choice of word moosh.
For something to be retro, it has to be new yet intended to appear old, i.e. Mike's Beetle or one of those God awful new pseudo Minis, or Sian's trousers.

Old mags are merely old, much like MK I and II Escorts and Minis and Mantas etc. etc. not retro, just fairly old.

Like a mock tudor house would be new, a bit crap and rather tasteless, henceforth retro, whereas a genuine tudor barn is just genuinely sodding old.

So, suffice to say, an '87 edition of Fast Lane with an article on a Panterra and a flat nose 911 Turbo may seem old to you, but in the big scheme of things, and; especially as you are only four years of age, it's not realy that old, especially as it is almost mint and relatively sprightly when placed next to a 1956 issue of 'The Motor' complete with black and white adverts

Random? how fooolll?!

Simply clarifying the meaning of another English word (that you've been mis-using/quoting for a while) for you
