Went to a Leon launch training course today. Drove the car, was a 2.0 TDi 140PS.

Must say that no picture i've seen can do it justice, which is a shame Cos its sooo much nicer in the flesh, so to speak.

The acceleration of this one was very responsive and the handling was superb. I turned off the ESP when i drove it, going round the twisty backroads up in MK and near Silverstone i really gave it as good a testing as possible (bearing in mind i was following a SEAT UK important person!). High speeds down narrow country roads werent a problem and I felt perfectly safe Which is very important I suppose!

The seating position is quite low down and personally, I really like the that.

One thing which REALLY impressed me by this car was the blindspot - THERE WASN'T ONE! The wing mirror is actually placed on the door, limiting wind noise and seemingly eliminating the blindspot. I could see the car coming along side me out the corner of my eye before it disappeared from the wingmirror, and that was quite a small car too(Punto).

I'm really looking forward to the launch of this new SEAT Leon and can see it as nothing less than a good thing for the SEAT brand.

Certainly a step in the right direction.

P.S. Sorry about the crap pic, but it was strictly no cameras allowed in the building, so had to take the oppertunity when it arose!
