Currently i Own a corsa..yadda...yadda...

But is there anyone out there whom runs a second car?

My friend is thinking of getting rid of his 2.0 litre GTE... it's seen some better days and He wants to go back to french cars (205)... the GTE is a shadow of its former self... but it still runs.... it just needs a total make over... but he will be selling it cheap to me...

Is it worth it? I could take the GTE of the road.. or launch it into a bodyshop to get work done it as it needs bodywork..

Insurance wise? that shouldnt be too much of a problem as Im working full time/etc...

Why would you buy a car that needs work doing to it???

Even if it's cheap it seems a bad idea to me??

Is the GTE a 16v'er?

what exactly does it need?

I have nearly finished restoring my 16v and I reckon it was worth every penny! I really enjoy driving the car...

I run a ford fiesta for those rainy days, but since the GTE is a much nicer car to drive, and is obviously alot quicker,,, the poor little fiesta doesnt get to come out all that much !!

2x tax
2x MOT
2x petrol costs - not really true
2x insurance

it all adds up when running a second car though fella, trust me!!

It is.... and it isnt
obviously it depends what needs doing, and what you can do yourself!

My GTE needed quite alot of welding, but luckily I knew a man who can
so all its really cost me is the paintwork...

The engine is pretty Sound? but its lost its overall look over the years.. I will investigate more into it though.

See what my finances are like/etc... I have a garage it can live in too, As my corsa cant get in it due to its too low.

But I shall ask more questions and seeek more answers.

I would like it to restore it... Ala... I'll put in the hard work and effort and make it back to its original condition... and My corsa will be my show car with all the bling and crap like that
