Bought and fitted my piperX induction kit today, all was quite clear and it looks sweet.
There is basically no change in engine sound though , is there anything i might have missed out?

disconnect the battery terminals for an hour, to let the ECU reset. it will then adjust to the new air filter. remember your radio code tho if u have a vaux radio

ECU + Carbs???????????? Nooooo, the two things are completely different things. The ECU will self learn to a degree that there is an induction kit fitted.

^^^ people always say this, but when i first got my K&N my revs went from 800 RPM to 1500 RPM, so it was revving well high ( increased airflow i'm thinking of)

i thought it would sort it's self out which it did not, so 2 days later i disconnected the battery, ( for only 5 mins )

reconnected and left it running and it settled back at 800 RPM.

So it worked for me.

all it does is re-sets the memory of the ecu. clears fault codes. ecu's self learn, so re-setting it may appear to do something instantly, but will do it eventually anyway.

doesnt actually 'adjust' to the new air filter.

i thought that - kind of. So basically a carb does need setting up to acommidate the increased air intake?
