have finally been blessed with the option of broadband at home now

finally

I know nothing about all this and want to know what package would do the job, also want to be able to use xbox live

what u recommend?

I dont think there is much in any of the ISPs these days.
Id just say stay away from BT, Wannadoo and of course..... AOL

You can use an XBox on any network connection, even on NTL without buying the gaming pack, just get a good router and activate MAC spoofing, when NTL twig on and stop the XBox working just change the MAC on the router

Jesus - Just get bloody BT Broadband, Go for anything cheaper and you will get shite customer service...i know...i was with 3 others before BT

Force9 who i am with and work are with have good customer service.

BT are shite imo

phone up bt and ask em for a broadband router instead of the modem, cos it will give you network connectivity, easy peasy for xbox, ps2 etc BT are not shoot!!

if you think about it bt own all the lines etc, so you are only paying another company, wanadoo etc to pay bt, why not go through bt, not like bt ever gonna go bust is it? unlike many other companies!

if i wasnt with bt i would go with blueyonder and no others

My personal bad experience is having trouble with BT when using anytime some time ago.
BT are money grabbers.

Get yourself an unlimited pipex 2meg connection for like £33 a month or a 1meg one for about a fiver less iirc. That's what we are looking at changing too

At the old house BT gave shit poor service, but this house it's been ace, they connected my broadband 3 days early and it's spot on!

think you'll find most haven't had any problems with BT.

Been with them for ages now and never had a problem, download speeds are as they should be 24/7, even with 4 computers sharing the connection.
