Your the very first person I know to describe it as a wallowy barge!

Are you sure the bushes werent perished through years of hard cornering?

They generally let go about 60-70k miles

Yeah, first thing that needed doing when I bought the car was the bushes and the brakes.

The car was good, it just wasnt my sort of car, too comfortable, too quiet, wallowy handling etc etc, didnt feel like it was 321bhp either! I never took the car out just for a drive if you know what I mean, great if you needed to be at a business meeting in Bradford before 11am but not good if you just wanted to go for a full chat blast over the A628 on a Sunday morning!

Apparently the E36 was a bit of a pig compared to the E30 and the E46 anyway!

Yeah, Ive heard that as well!

I see one every morning on my way to work (a phase 1) just a shame I dont use the P1 for work to 'test' its speed!

E46 is a similar drive to the E36 IMO

Biiiig car, which revs so frantically your convinced you "must" be going fast!

are you comparing them to yer p1 though... or just in general?

what didnt you liek about them...?

Nah, had the E36 M3 Evo before I had the 200sx and the P1.......worst car I have ever owned! Big wallowy barge, no fun, clinical etc etc!

The Clio was a let down. Lad I know was in front of me in one last week, I thought round the bends it was gonna be nippy but it just wasnt I was having to back off constantly. I though, fair enough I do have nearly double his power etc etc so I had a go and was equally as let down! Suppose i expected too much of it!

To be fair its not gonna have much of a chance against an top spec rally bred car round the bends, not really a fair comparison, or maybe you are more of a crazy driver.

IMO the Clio's are one of, if not the best handling hot hatch's around.

Hmmmmm

Surprised by a few of the comments here! M3/V6 Clio and the R32 mainly.

Well i think my first is the 106 GTI..It was a noisy rickety piece of shite IMO.Quick for what it is but has no guts whatsoever.Handling was also overated and the back end would snap like fuk if you when to far.Brakes were ok.

And the scooby....

Well 0-60 i doubt there is many cars my car would'nt either rape or just about beat. But after about 70 it seems to run out of puff which is annoying. Also it sits at 4K revs when doing 80 on the mway which can piss you off to say the least.

Brakes are the worst of any car i've driven.Overall grip is second to non BUT the handling is pretty crap in standard form and needs uprating. If i had another one i'm buying shares in Shell and getting a new age one.

The new shape clios are horrid to drive too!! Clucky and jerky shite.

Best car i've ever owned...

AXGT The best handling car i think i'll ever drive.Could turn a sharp corner on a fuking sixpence even when standard.

02 Plate: Subaru Impreza WRX Estate, Not very fast, poor handleing. The only thing that impressed me was the pulling off speed! But if your hit the limiter dropped the clutch it will pull off fast then die then go again..

Jaguar X Type 2.5 V6. Not as fast as expected.

Christ, even the 150 Bhp P.D. Golf feels quicker

Clio V6 isnt a;l about speed tho.

Its meant to be a really good driving experience. Not just about being the fatest, plus have u ever seen anything other than a supercar that has quite as much road "prescence"

imo I think they are great.

R32 is pish slow too.

Clio V6 is nice looking but only slightly faster than a 172 cup which is shocking given the engine differences.

Not being funny jambo but i wouldnt want road presence without the ability to show it off

I agree clio v6 big disappointment

Agreed there skinz, i was rathert meaning from a visual point of view. A 172 is nippy but looks the same as a 1.2

If you get me.

Id also like to add ive never driven one and they could be complete toss to drive
