Are national hot rods daily drivers?

You can get foam sock filters made with little filtration if that's what you're after.

if its not used that much and you dont drive it on crap roads then you probably will get away with it, old ferraris etc run without filters as standard anyway, the mesh on the top of rampipes doesnt do any good for flow and wont stop smaller particals..

probably best to use socks on them

can't say I've had issues.

And if you want mesh filter (i.e stops trees and bowlders getting sucked in)
Then hit the pound shop and buy some tea strainers and mastic them on.

Joff - DTH bodies if you don't want this issue, and I'll u2u you the diameter I need for new element

Oh or get a taper manifold, re-drill and tap it for DCOE bodies and plug the injector bosses, then it wont' foul the balkhead.

Universal lengths, so buy one and cut it down.

j1400 - Too late to change to DTH bodies
U2U me the details of where the car's going to be used, might be able to lose filtration for air flow.

i was thinking putting individual socks back on but getting really short 1's the pipercross socks i had on before had like a rubber seal around the base of them which went over the trumpets... and i right in saying as a standard the filter socks only come in 1 size?
