either download this

or install media player again
that error is from the current codec being corrupt i think

u thought about winamp? its a lot more stable than windows media player and has better features?

yeah go to control panel >> add/remove programs >> then search in the list for windows media player and uninstall it
then go to http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php and download that...
