GTi, which is what i'd get. lighter and lots of tuning potential.

Although i reckon a 1.8 SRi is 'cooler'

Pug is faster on paper but the 1.8 SRi is more motorway friendly IMO

If you like driving your car quick through the back roads then the GTi is the best bet. However they break alot...

Corsa is better build, and I would hazard a guess at it being more torquey than the pug

theres 132 Kg difference in weight...nothing a bit of tuning wouldn't overcome.

And the X18XE is a very easy engine to release a decent 45bhp out of

Regal do a kit which includes a new inlet manifold, new cams, exhaust manifold with de-cat and a remap for £2k and that will give you

170bhp and still be very realiable.

Personally i'd recomend trying them both. I know after driving my C, I find it almost clostraphobic driving my mums B, or my mates 106, just because they feel so much smaller inside. The C's feel a lot better build and "beefier" inside.

Only thing i hate about mine is the fact that 5th gear is way too short, and the engie sits "screaming" at 4k+ RPM at 80Mph . Mines a 1.4, but the 1.8 has the same gearbox, or atleast the same gear ratios.

106

Faster
Better Handling
Half Leather
More fun, Raw, Chuckable
Pulls all the way to 7200 rpm
Cams, manifold, Exhaust, Filter, Remap will see you around 150-160 bhp

Corsa

Cheaper to insure
Probably more confortable

Reliablity issue for the 106 isnt valid if you buy a good one, Ive done 22,000 miles in mine in 18 months and take it to 7200rpm most days and I have had no problems.

get the corsa.....

cant complain about mine really, as has been stated, loads of tuning potential, mine should be up around the 150bhp mark now, they handle very very well and as long as they are serviced well they are reliable, just take it easy with the gearbox though

Dunno how much the corsa is but 106 Gtis start at around 2.5 nowadays. 4k would get you a T plate or newer with average mileage and half leather.
Bargain for what you get IMO.

Hold their value better as well.
