Was having conversation about this in work. Might only apply to people living in scotland but I'm in college doing my HND Fitness, Health & Exercise. Then I go to Uni for two years (Go straight into third year) to get my Degree with Honours. After I've done this can I do another year and get teaching degree. One of my friends is doing this and hers takes only an extra year? Any help?

PGCE is one year but you need a degree to get on it.
Degree would be three years.
HND of two years plus a final year should also be just three?

yeah you do a PGCE after you have your degree to teach. Try and get a placement where they pay for your training is the best. Maybe different in Scotland but also there is only usually a limited amount of spaces on the PGCE for each uni etc.

If you're going straight in the third year do you then have a fourth?
Is that a four year degree in total? They're usually only that long if there's an access or zero year on the front of them.
PGCE places are limited here also.

I did a HND for two years and now doing a degree. I'm told that you have to take a year out to get the honours clasification. I think all uni just make up there own rules to be honest

Im doing a HND for years, then I get put into the second year of the degree.
2 years + 2years
You can do foundation which is
1 year + 3 years
or three years for degree on its own.
I thought I would do the HND as its another qualification, also a more practical easy going year after gay levels.

i did a HND then went in to second year of degree did placement year. then third year. now about to start masters
friend who was in year below on HND managed to do just the final year of degree as they changed the rules.
HND I found to be a much better learning experience than the degree.

HND in computer applications
honours degree in computer science
my house mate does a Phd yes it is research based he never does any work but does have to be 9-5 everyday. and gets paid to help out in the labs at 13.5 an hour.
PHd is either pass or fail. he has to do a report and a presentaion every few months to show what he has found out. then at the end it is the same but bigger and it weather he passes or fails
