hey ppl,

ive got a corsa gsi which is burnin oil atm.
i have done a compression test which is ok so i have singled out the valve stem seals as bein the problem.
i have a std 2nd hand head wit new valves, seals etcand has been skimmed. i also have a pair of courtenays high tourque cams 2go with the head.
is it worth gettin some work done 2 the head b4 i fit it?
also does ne1 no a place in SUFFOLK where i can get the work carried out n ruff prices etc?

also

i have been thinkin about fittin a mantzel power box in the future but would it b more worth while 2 save up the lil xtra n get some TB's instead?
i only use the car at weekends as i live close 2 work.

cheers ppl.
all help and advise is appriciated

you have same problem as me! my gsi burns and leaks laods of oil!!
thought of a 2litre but i would never really use the power as i only do short town to town journeys!

you might as well do full proper rebuild and uprating of the engine while its all apart... but depends what you want in the end, if you plan to keep the car for long time might be worth slapping in a bigger engine as it will cost the same as rebuilding your current engine

a new inlet manifold will give upto 20bhp, TB will give lot more!!!
and apparently Mantzel have gone bust!!!

yeh mantzel r no more.only place 2 get them now is through courtenay. i wanna use me car 4 weekend blasts, shows n track days. thinkin tb's coz apparently they aint 2bad on fuel 4 normal drivin?
full rebuild wouldnt cost me much as i work at vaux but ideally only wanna do the top end atm unless the piston rings r on there way out. if thats the case ill just buy another c16xe 4 a total rebuild 2 put in. im only 19 so a bigger engine is out the question n also wanna keep it a 1.6 so i dont take the car away from bein a gsi
