Dunno if it is me or what but the clutch on my Saxo is either broke or shite. Prob the latter Anyway, can't get a smooth gear change when droping gears, car seems to jump. Does this even when you rev the engine and let the clutch up slowerly. Sometimes 3rd gear crunches when changing gear even though the clucth pedal is to the floor. Seems to only be a tiny bit of bite when moving off too. Pedal is very low down at the bite point too.

Is it worth spending cash getting this looked at?

Sounds like the clutch needs an adjustment. Either that or its worn and needs replacing.

If its crunching that could be because the clutch needs and adjustment (isnt releasing far enough to engage the gear properly) or youve got a damaged syncro in the box. If its only crunching in one gear then I suspect its the latter.

Hope that helps

Cheers Stu. Looks like a trip to the local garage Cannot see it being worn as it's only got 4700 miles on the clock.

You never know? I did a clutch in a day in my old 200sx!

I suspect an adjustment may cure it tho matey! Its only done 4700, is it under warranty still then? If so you could probably blag a new clutch anyway. Even tho a clutch is a comsumable it *should* last longer than 4700 miles under normal driving........just dont tell em about any races or drag strippin!

Thing is tho, I drive my 1.4 Escort 'Cabaret' far worse than I drive my P1. Already done one clutch and the gearbox has started whining too!
