To have info about the car... speed, oil pressure temperatures etc displayed all nicely on a screen in the centre console ?

i think fear has put somthing like this in his car... its wired into his lcd display in the centre of the dash...

Yes. You will be able to get expensive data logging equipment that can monitor these values, but you'll need sensors and stuff.

Good project if you can do it.
