What colour tie looks good with a white shirt? Tus a patterned white shirt but I cannot decide what colour tie goes best and looks most attractive etc :S

Usually a colour that compliments the trousers as a white shirt pretty much goes with anything!

depends what colour your trousers and shoes are

black trousers - Navy or Purple
Grey trousers - Blue (any shade) or pink
Brown trousers - beige/brown tie

Agreed, but if your trousers are dark (most likely) then go for dark blue patterned.
