Im in pretty much of a dilema at the moment, was planning on 2.0 redtop conversion but after testing the water with my insurance company a 2.0 Astra is in group 14 which is the top grouop before they refuse to insure me so a 2.0 Corsa is likely to be higher again with the power to weight ratio. So now it comes down to the fact that is it going to be worth modifying my 1.4 16v or a smaller jump to a 1.6 16v?? Which is going to be the best and easiest in terms of cost and manual labour...Also what are the options as far as modifying a 1.4? Thanks

Yeh thought it might be something like that I think i mite as well rule that out for the near future. Whats ur preference between a modded 1.4 16v and a straight 1.6 16v transplant as far as money and overall increase?

Nice Will the 1.6 16v fit directly without any modification to the engine bay or shafts etc.? I dont no if there is any difference between the 1.4 sport and the 1.6 sport other than the bigger engine

it'll go straight in... upgrading brakes is always a good idea too, make sure you get all the wiring etc and give the lump a nice fettle before you drop it in
