Gets a bit boring after a while.

Still, is mildly amusing to see the looks on said chav's faces in my rear view mirror when their weedy little Saxo/Corsa/Fiesta/shed gets obliterated by a 6 pot Cav!

I can't wait to get my V8 Ute though... mind you I don't think the chav thing is as bad down under as it is in the UK!

Well it's a Ford, so it doesn't really bother me!

I want to keep my Cav totally standard looking from the outside, but might 'tweak' it a little.

My first mod will be to remove the stupid go faster stripes on the sides of it!

A lot of the time small cars usually have the engines out of the 'bigger' cars!

I think most of them do it just to see a fast car launch off down the road, that what I used to do!

I had some scallies in a paxo try and race me. I mean, come on, what is the point. Even a standard one would whoop their ass.

make sure you get an LS2 matey, reviews have been pumping out good for them now. Safe engine, stil whoops anything Ford/FPV can muster. VE Commodore will use LS2 next year, still using LS1 for VZ model. Only HSV are using the LS2 for their current lineup. 450bhp in a ute is utter madness. can do the 1/4 in mid 13's

Any details on tuning for the LS2 though yet???

LS1 is really tuneable with a Supercharger from Vortech taking the engine to arounfd 650 BHP with 15psi of boost, depending on how much cash you've got it's also easy to get 1100bhp out the LS1 aswell, Parts are so easy to get when your in the UK either Shipped in from Australia or Over from America as the engines used in the Corvettes aswell, Parts will be readily available in the UK soon but better gettin the stuff from AUS and the US imo

We can get the 6.0 LS2 over here in the VXR Monaro but Vauxhall's claiming only 399 bhp

excellent news! really glad to see Vauxhall poaching the LS2. Kind of suprised about it actually, with the problems GM are having with the Zeta architecture. The only car now to get the Zeta subframe will be next years VE Commodore, and a few of those will be shipped to S America and China and rebadged as Chevy's.
Tuning for the LS2 is a bit low on the ground at the moment, but expect to see HSV themselves taking the LS2 to over 500bhp, NA of course.

vauxhall are just jealous they cant build big engines like Holden (well technically chevy ) Heard about the VE, cant understand how they are doing a VE they are just going to start rusing the old ones like VK,VL,VN,VP and so on

Wouldn't have thought many tuning parts were out will be keeping an eye out for dynomotive releasing any more beasts like that Devil Yellow monaro they done

yellow monaro is a bit nuts TBH VE is only a codename to confuse the general public.
As for the LS2, i think it has a big future, perhaps bigger than the previous pushrods. Lets hope that GM continues to fund the V8 programme, because lets face it, even the LS2 borrows heavily from technology from 1955.
Are any Vauxhalls/Saabs getting the new Alloytec unit in the UK? Its an australian built 3.4 V6, with the Alloytec190 pushing 260bhp NA. There are strong rumours over here that Saab want the engine for the 9-3/9-5 series, so we are waiting for Holden to announce a turbocharged version. Its the one thing missing in the Holden line-up. Still massive competitors against Ford Australia.
At the moment its XR6 vs SV6, XR6 Turbo vs nothing and Boss V8 vs LS2 V8. And of course the fight between best V8 ute, and FPV vs HSV.
