Sounds like a turbo... the Darth Vader impression is compressor surge, escaping back through the boost circuit. Same principle as a dump valve, but the pressure is released back through the air filter instead of a whoosher valve.

cant be arsed to read this, all i will say thought is that the baily Recirv on my ibiza cupra made a darth vader esque sound when it dumped.

You can tell with an S/C as you hear the whining sound instantly, as opposed to laggy turbos.

I have a video somewhere of the 655bhp Dynomotive Monaro somewhere, it's got a Vortech S/C with 15psi of boost so it's got to have somewhere for that boost to go so they fitted it with what looks to be a valve to realease the pressure 
The video of the Car is of it on the Dyno, you can hear the car going up the gears and he's booting it but no sign of a Dumpvalve you hear a whine and a very very slight hissing but no "ptscch" or chatter (and thats over the growl of the 5.7 litre V8 with custom exhausts )
will hunt it out think it's on a old backup disc
