I have always wondered this... y r the back number plates yellow n the front white??

so you can tell difference between front and rear of a car, also less glare off a yellow plate when your headlights hit. Suppose that could have something to do with it.

Oh rite thanks for telling me.. I think they should both be white though. Who would get the front and back end of a car wrong?

But then shouldnt it be other way around as following a car isnt as bad as one coming the other way dazing you

Well I guess not, cos when you got headlights shining you need the plate to be more reflective to be able to see it... possibly.
Not certain, just what seemed to be common sense at the time.
