have to be registered in the UK? does this cost much?

so if i buy a car from an importer, is it usual that they register the car in the UK for me or would i have to do it myself. any info greatly appreciated!!

anybody got any good import sites?

basically works out like

Auction price
+27.5% of auction price on tax's
500 shipping
500 sva
500 to importer (fee's)
180 or so for MOT/Reg



so... a worked example


car costs 5k (982,522.28 yen) at auction...

you'll end up paying aprox..... 8k

christ, didnt know it was that much! i've been lookin on autotrader and they say 'in the UK now' that would mean that its been registered already doesn't it? sorry all questions, i'm new to this stuff!

actually saying that, its not a bad price at all. works out cheaper than to buy from over here doesn't it!
