Got all the parts I need to re-build my 2.0, bar a crank position sensor and an oil filter sandwich plate and it's cost me fuck all I found a 04 plate Astra in the scrap yard which had a Ecotec engine in it, all the tappets seemed in good working order so I took them to use for now because I can't afford new ones yet, this car had done 15,000 miles on them so they are in good enough condition. There was also a Vectra 2.0 which I nicked the front brakes off, these were in immaculate condition, the disks look like they have done about 10,000 miles or less the same with the pads, the calipers sho no sign of leaking too which is a bonus The best part is all these parts cost me a grand total of £30
Got the block stripped down fully after giving the crankshaft pully bots a good drilling and hammering. Painted the block up wiht some Hammerite so it's going to be nice and clean and now I'm soaking the tappets in de-greaser to clean them up nicely for when I re-build the head....
Looks like I should be able to drive the car up to PVS providing I get my Ecotec pipe and adaptor in time and I don't have too many problems re-assembling the engine... Can't wait for 2.0 power...
Sorry for the essay, been a good day, most home modders will understand doesn't happen too often
