It does on this board
I was with my ex for 4 1/2 years got engaged after 2 years and then split up 2 1/2 years later
Doesnt matter when you get engaged aslong as you feel it's the right thing

Marriage isnt always something that everyone wants to do, plenty of couples go through life living together and have kids but just dont marry as they dont see a piece of paper will change anything
Some couples are together for years and then just drift apart or dont marry till they are in their 40s
If its not right for you at the time then dont get forced into it
i totaly agree i have been with my partner since i was 17 im now 23 and have 3 kids we have our own home i love her to bits and i dont need a bit of paper to prove it

Only when you're married can you tell your womans parents that you bone her senseless most nights without them being annoyed at you.

I kind of understand it but don't.
I wouldn't get married for at least 2 years of living with a girl that's the only way you know if you are truly compatible.
Sometimes I don't feel like i'll ever meet anyone who i'll really truely care about again and give everything to they just fuck you about.

I have quite traditional ideas so i definately want to get married, i understand why it doesnt bother some people either way though.
Lets be honest though, you can get out of marriage fairly easy these days, and i think this makes some people enter into it too light heartedly, then again some people seem to think its more of a comitment than having a child which is ridiculous. I want to get married one day and have babies

i have traditional views on marraige so think that is should last, therefore wouldnt even consider it till we both KNEW we were ready, cant really set a time in years, but not for a good few yet! why rush to get married, isnt love about enjoying spending your life with someone you enjoy being with? surely you can do this without a certificate and a ring

I've been with my boyfriend for four and a half years - before he didnt want to settle down with me coz we were each others first everything, but now he's sort of changed his mind and talks about us settling down. I'm really traditional with marriage and believe its for life. I wud settle down with my bf but wud need to live with him for a while before that. Saying that I would say yes if he proposed although would wanna wait till about 25 before the big day!
