I'm looking for a good pocket sized digital camera around the £200 mark.

Want 5mp, and as big a opt zoom as i can get....

how do these three hit you?

Pentax Optio SV
Panasonic LZ2
RICOH Caplio R2

was thinking about the Ixus50, but its a bit low specced compared to above for £20 or so cheaper.

ken

all three will cause damage to my skull if they hit me hard enough.

Pentax Optio SV - got good manual control, not got long as zoom as LZ2, no IS, better battery system than LZ2

Panasonic LZ2 -good zoom poor noise levels, no AF assist so struggels to focus in low light, low res LCD screen, lens has IS, limited manual controls

RICOH Caplio R2

less zoom than SV, got manual focus, good macro focus distance, lacks manual control, does time laps which is nice, got good battery set up.

on paper the pentax is what I would get but you really need to get a hold of them and maybe get a couple of sample pics to see what they are like.

as far as i am aware the canon will give you the better pictures, as it has an aspherical lense.

Also it has a cool 'my colour' option. Can take a picture f something ie a yellow car, leave the yellow in and turn the rest of the picture black and white
