I was reading a thread on your local cruise site about it and it intigued me, as did your respnse

"depends really cos you can get som cars that really take to a turbocharger and have very little lag or you can get others that have so much lag it takes days for the turbo to spool..

then again you have the Supercharger that whines more than your missus and has constant power

Hard decision... Supercharger all the way"

That was on Livi (which has recently turned into a shite Site )

And it was a general question I would never Supercharge a Corsa but if i got the Monaro (when i'm old and grey!!) I'd supercharge it and watch the power rise from around 330bhp to 655bhp@7000rpm with 15psi of boost

Powerfigures are from Dynomotive, Australia using the Vortech Supercharger (www.dynomotive.com.au)

lag on a turbo's car depends on the length of pipework, turbo characteristics etc...

a laggy turbo is normally due to it being big

also a supercharger takes longer to attain boost and will generally produce less hp thana turbo and use more compared to a turbo

do a search on the supercharged astra mk2 XE, think it was a dutch owner, (theres a whole website about it) and you will see its not exactly easy - he had some serious problems with it, from what i remember, and it took him well over a year to get it working properly.
Although the sound of it was mazin
