This seems to floating about on the boards
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN GREAT BRITAIN DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME,
THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF
OVER 4.6 BILLION POUNDS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
COMPANIES.
THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR
BEHIND "DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE
DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU
FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS
YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THIS GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN
PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED A FORTNIGHT AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT
AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON
EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING
MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC.
WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE
DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE
WORD.
FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF
GREAT BRITAIN SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

What a fucking selfish Idea.
Do you know how much pollution is fucking the ozone layer?
Petrol prices keep driving to a minimum, I sure have to economise as much as possible driving wise.
Imagine a situation like in the US where fuel is dirt cheap - engine sizes go up and milage goes up. Ends up with 15 MPG motors and a disregard for the environmont.
Don't be stupid!

The environment? Who cares about the environment?
By the time it's got to the point where it's properly affecting us, this generation won't be around any more, so bring petrol prices down and give us the choice to damage it as much as we want!
Let the next generation worry about needing factor-1000 sun-cream, I'm not going to!

Why are you on a car forum, were most people are interested in cars, and complaining about cars doing whatever to the environment?

Did you see those Greenpeace idiots on the news? I hope they get locked away for trespass and criminal damage, and stay away for a good few years so they can watch the ozone-layer rotting away while they're stuck in prison!

Yes and it pissed me off big time . Their responce to the interviewer saying how people could loose jobs because of the delay in production etc was "Well the industry will die ot soon enough anyway". I mean ffs, atleast pose a decent argument.
The car industry in the uk is fragile enough as it is without some muppets fucking it up even more. The landrover factory is only miles from Longbridge, and i think the local suppliers have been hit hard enough, without these fuckwits putting the boot in .

I can't think of anything more exciting than driving a car with a massive engine that only returns 15 mpg.
