Ive created one just like the Gran Turismo skyline. Its funny to play online with a GT car, and hear all the fanboys scream at you 
All the cars are made using shapes (ie: squares, circles, etc) there are NO template shapes. The reason they look so good, is because they hook the xbox up to the pc with a tv card, and draw onto the car real time, with a trasparent picture on top. Try it
