i left the car up mother in laws all week (been using the misses car), i went to pick it up today and someone has rammed a screwdriver into my lock (i only have one lock on the rivers side) and removed the lock.

They didnt get in (perhaps the clifford alarm deadlocks it?), perhaps they noticed the alarm, or it went off, i dont know, but im glad they didnt get in.

Gonna pop off to vaux to get a rear door handle to cover the drivers side now.
No locks except the boot.

they must have thought it was an easy picking If i was gonna nick one of those cars I'd take my chance with the Veccy aswell!! no doubt the rest have trackers seeings as they are pretty expensive motors with exception to the MG ZR they probably looked at that and thought it wasnt much of a challenge

Only if it double pulses the arm wire, but you can use the original remote alongside it i think.

yeah, i did this once when the alarm was playing up once.
i think i managed to lock it (probably dead lock it) and when i unlocked the car with the key fob it never actually unlocked it fully

Just off to vaux now to get a replacement back door handle (has blanking plate for lock) to swap it over.
the least i have now is a fcuking gage where they've worked the screwdriver under the handle

My mate locked his keys in his Pug 106 earlier this arvo, he was thinking of smashing a window to break in, then he saw some passing chavs and asked them how to break in, they chatted bollocks to him, so in the end, he managed to break in using some wire or something through the rubber bit on the door where the glass is, says it took him about 7 seconds to do...

He says he's now worried about the (lack of) security on his car!

Similar thing happened to my prelude, cept the twat who tried to break in put the screwdriver/knife/crowbar between the door and the panel, and tried to jimmy it open. cut the door, and left a dent in the pannel. didnt get in, must of been a novice if the thought that would work ....unless it was just vandilism.

Oh and i reckon they picked the vectra, because they're quite common, and cops wouldnt notice it straight away, not like with the db7 anyway.
