Depends what ride.

Nemesis and rides like Air then has to be the front. The front of Nemisis Inferno at Thorpe Park is amazing Mine trains and conventional coasters then it doesnt really matter, although I usually opt for the back seats.

When I went Alton Towers today I went on the front of everything. It was awesome. Although if not front then back as you get thrown around loads but when people say it goes faster suely you mean seems as if it was going faster how would it still be the same distance behind the car at the front all the way round

Although I would never queue for more than an extra 10mins to sit at the front.

I went to Alton Towers earlier this month. Went on everything numerous times. Best to go on School holidays (but not Summer) as most people dont go because they think it will be busy. During School hols there are never any school trips so no coach loads of kids Also go if the weather is forecast as overcast with a chance of showers, that puts everyone off.

not at all. at the front, you have to wait for the rear carriage to come off the flat surface of the hill, this would mean your already down the slope, but not going fast. at the back, everyone is waiting for you, so u go fast as soon as u go over the hill. kinda hard to explain, but its true. watch nemesis @ alton towers on the first drop, the front carriage slows down, then suddenly speeds up as back carriage gets over the hill
