having big problems with this at the mo, the college where I work have locked the network down big time, cant get VNC to work and neither Remote Desktop Sharing.
Anyone got any help or suggestions or even a program that will work.
It looks like the pretty much blocked all the ports. I tried changin the port on VNC to 80 and still no luck!
Someone please help.....

Dunno how you can fix it but i gotta say how ace it is Using if for uni at the mo. Shame you cannot visit lecturers offices with it though

find out what ports are open and work from there Although i personally rate Remote Admin (RAdmin) a good program - especially as i never got vnc working Plus it only works on single ports (unlike a few remote desktop programs out there)

Yep, we solved this and use this at work, Windows XP Firewall was on and stopped the remote esesh taking place

i've set it up but it wont work on the default port of 4899, how easy is it to change? and how do i find a port that i can use?

what are you trying to controll? inside or outside the LAN?
I personally like dameware, RAdmin is also very good

try 80 as that is http traffic so should be open

yeah 80 dont work, strange, trin to do it over the internet thru my college network
