If it's 8v, then as follows...
5 mins jack car up
5 mins slacken and remove two manifold to front section sprung bolts
1 min to remove centre/cat clamp
10 mins to free off what will prob be rusted centre pipe to cat connection
then 5 mins to fit new cat,
1 min to do up clamp
3 mins to refit bolts
5 mins to take out axle stands etc...
35 mins I reckon.

could always fit a new manifold/downpipe O gasket as your existing one is likely to be goosed. New clamp might be handy if old one is rusted up too. Other than that, no.

Same prob applies for a 1.2 16v as an 8v. Just slightly different exhust configuration.
Ive gone off what I've done with mine up there...

The Cat is built onto the manifold, so theres no way of 'taking' it off unless you use a hacksaw & leave a massive hole in the manifold,
this is the main reason why there are no 'performance manifolds' for this engine (X12XE)

Ah. You're screwed then. Replace whole manifold job, so need new exhaust gasket etc...
