Id love the chance to drive the s4s 
They are about as quick as an M3 to 60, ive had a small kind of race with an E46 m3 and it wasnt that much faster than me, only his handling was giving him the edge, so in a straight line wouldnt be much in it.
If its a hot day i shall hopefully stand half a chance

you don't want a gt3 they are only 2L and pants. S4 - S4S are 2.2 and a bit quicker...

GT3's have a turbo. An S4s is lame compared to a v8. I was merely stating for £16k u can pick up a gt3

S3, S4, S4S GT3, V8 and late square S3's all have turbos. Rounded S3's got charge coolers. A nicely honed S4 or S4s will sit on the ars of a v8 for quite a while but lose top end by about 10mph. Not really that lame.

Forgot to mention the sport 300. 2.2 turbo 4 pot. Shits on a V8 but the Sport 350 v8 shits on everything quite nicely..

and pretty much all of them shit on a GT3.. Although the GT3 got the later interior. thats about all its got going for it.. Gay decals as well.

I know. But as said above for £16k its a very good value option to own a supercar! im not syaing its a better car at all i know it isnt its a budget esprit
Decals can be removed, dodgy orange paintjobs can be resprayed!
Personally id sell my nan to own a V8, but i think my parents would object so im plumping for the cheapest alternative! £16k for a lotus esptrit is not bad IMO.

If i were on a shop for one now i would probably go V8. but on a budget of say 16-17 i would look for a spotless S4S, the upkeep is a lot more tidy. I met a guy who had a v8 on a track day, he had just paid £700 for cat that blew up.. the problem was the v8 has got 2 of them... but on the flip side, my headgasket went and overpressurised the water system which then popped the rad..... Entire cost of that episode was £2300... so really none of them are that cheap!.. Had that have been on a v8 i dread to think what the cost.. s4s is chippable quite easily to 350bhp for about £400.. and all of them leak water into the boot after a while so you needs a garage!!..... and a day to day run around...

You got an esprit then mr farrow? GOt any pix? Ive allways wanted one, heard nightmare stories about unreliability and dodgy gearboxes
Just want a black esprit V8 with cream leather hide with the old style classic dash 
I have a garage and 2 cars  But i doubt i will afford the esprit just yet ill stick with my silly big power FWD car
