joined a gym yesterday, started this morning....swam about 7 lengths and spend half an hour in steam room and sauna....

gona go on sunday.when do ya think is a good time for me to start using the machines?

i only went swimming today to get me body used to at exercise

any advice will be cool!

Depends what ya aiming for, fitness?, body toning? or bulking up?
Fitness ya wanna do cardiavascular (spelling) work, running swimming rowing etc etc
Body toning ya wanna do lots of repetitions with lighter weights
Bulking up ya wanna do as much weight as you can handle and do less reps, if ya can do 10 its too light, and repeat this in sets, its painfull but no pain no gain

i go on 12 reps not 10 but thats me

if u want to fuck ur body good and proper do a reverse pyramid starting on the max weight u can do 10 reps of.

go at your own pace just because you see someone liftin like the hulf still do what you can do it build you up better becasue it gives your muscels room to expand/addapt

You swam about 7 lenths and are worried about joining the gym. I can just about do 1 lenth and then i've had it. However, on a good day i've done 40 minutes on the tread mill but usually aim for around 20 minutes and then a few weights. The bikes are goo in are gym now, they have PS2s

That's good going if you swan 7 lenths, you'll have no probs in the gym.

did i also say i was fucked after 7 lengths? haha im going 2morrow mornign at 9am so will hammer the pool again, may even start on the running machines!!!!

If your just starting i wouldn't do anything too specific at the moment, i'd work on your general fitness for 2-3 months, mainly cardio, abit of weights if your bored but nothing near your max weights.

when u go on to weights do pyramids its wat im on and its the best of both worlds.... 3 sessions of cardio a week for an hour and 3 sessions of pyramids for an hour to... then u'll feel the effects in no time but as Carlo said dont do it for 2/3 months just do some simple stuff to get into and also best thing u cud do is go out for a run mate
